Abstract: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of ingesting ibuprofen on post-workout recovery of muscle damage, body temperature and muscle power indicators in Paralympic powerlifting athletes. The study was carried out with eight Paralympic powerlifting athletes (aged 27.0 ± 5.3 years and 79.9 ± 25.5 kg of body mass) competing at the national level, with a minimum training experience of 12 months, who all submitted to two experimental conditions: Ibuprofen (2 × 00 mg) and control. “…Powerlifting (PL) is an international sport where competitors attempt to lift a maximum amount of weight in threeprimary lifts: the bench press, the squat, and the deadlift. These threelifts provide widely accepted measures of upper-body, lower-body, and total body strength [1][2][3]. At all levels of PL, each competing athlete is ranked based on the best of the threevalid attempts afforded for the bench press, squat, and deadlift [1][2][3].…”

The threeare then "totaled," providing a measure of the total weight lifted and determining each athlete's overall place in the competition.…”

“…On the other hand, some studies involving Paralympic athletes have focused on the etiology of preventing possible injuries and classification criteria in competition [ 16 ]. In addition, our group recently analyzed the effect of different forms of post-exercise recovery involving non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs [ 17 ] and creatine supplementation [ 18 ]. Therefore, due to the lack and growing interest in studies in this population, it is necessary to understand the influence of warm-up in this segment.…”
