Abstract:Traditionally, structural dynamic simulation predictions for hollow structures do not include internal acoustic volumes. This is the case for two reasons. First, it can be difficult to create a volume mesh of complicated internal cavities, and this additional volume would drastically increase the size of the model. Second, it is often blindly assumed that acoustic coupling is not important for structures with anything but thin walls. However, if the structural and acoustic modes are compatible, that is, the mo… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
