Abstract:Objective: This study aimed to determine the effects of nanocurcumin on cardiomyopathy, assessed by the expression of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) mRNA in heart tissue. Methods: Type 2 diabetic rats were induced with streptozotocin and nicotinamide. Nanocurcumin was orally administered (100 mg/kg/day) for 30 days. BNP-45 mRNA expression in the heart tissue was measured using quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and calculated using the Livak method. Results: BNP-45 levels increased si… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
