“…In pigs, treatment of the mother with ACTH during the last third of gestation did not affect the frequency of diseased piglets during the lactation period (Otten et al, 2007). However, a strong behavioral stressor involving pain applied at the same gestational period increased the number of diseased piglets per litter until weaning (Tuchscherer et al, 2002).
