Effects of SB202190 on expression levels of IL-6 and NF-κB in flap ischemia-reperfusion injury

Abstract: The aim of the current study was to investigate the effect of SB202190, a specific inhibitor of p38 MAPK signaling pathway, on the expression levels of IL-6 and NF-κB in flap ischemia-reperfusion injury. Healthy Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups of 12 each. For the ischemia-reperfusion group, the flap was constructed and then sutured after 8 h of ischemia. For the saline group, rats were intraperitoneally infused with saline at regular intervals after flap ischemia-reperfusion. For the… Show more

“…This delay phenomenon eventually disappeared at 1 st POD in the SCZ which means that IR injury did happen in the potential territory. IR injury is a leading cause of necrosis after reconstructive flap surgery ( Guo et al., 2018 ). Apoptosis and oxidative stress are principal causes of cell death after reperfusion ( Burns et al., 1998 ; Tanaka et al., 2009 ).…”

“…(1) sham group, nontreated and nonoperated animals; (2) TNF-α concentrations decreased considerably after treatment with CBD of 1 mg/kg compared with the control (p <0.05 and <0.001, respectively). Administering SR144528 reversed the favorable effects of CBD of 1 mg/kg, both macroscopically and microscopically.…”

“…Animals were divided into seven different groups as follows: ( 1 ) sham group, nontreated and nonoperated animals; ( 2 ) control group, vehicle-treated (saline + DMSO) and operated animals; ( 3 4 5 6 ) CBD groups, rats received CBD at different doses (0.3, 1, 5, or 10 mg/kg) 60 minutes prior to cutting the main artery in four separate groups; and ( 6 ) SR144528 + CBD group, rats received SR144528 (2 mg/kg), a high affinity and selective CB2 inverse agonist, 60 minutes before the most effective dose of CBD (1 mg/kg) to investigate the possible involvement of CB2 receptors.…”
