Effects of Video Display Terminal Resolutions to the Legibility of Text on a Web Page

Abstract: Higher Video Display Terminal (VDT) resolutions have been proven to provide better quality in improving image quality displayed. The higher the resolution means more pixels per-inch-square available to display an image. This increase, however, may not be to the fonts used on web pages for improved legibility. Legibility of web text has been proved essential to ensure the quality of a web page. Support by the evidence from the previous research experiment results; low level of web text legibility can cause vari… Show more

“…The educational courses answer the questions that are related to: a) How the students' shooting process have been carried out based on the uniqueness's standard and on the fundamental learning outcomes?, b) How the learners can accomplish the necessary learning outcomes by applying technology learning (Hashim & Majid, 2015). The student is the main part of the whole educational process and that there are many technologies involved such as an email; online videos, wiki chats, Google forms which can be viewed from different browsers and from different operating systems (Aldiab et al, 2017).…”

“…Screen density and pixel arrangement are large factors for text readability, but many font attributes also have a strong impact. These font attributes can include the typeface, weight, contrast, and color . These problems are well understood in conventional text rendering on a 2D display, in which the text is aligned to the pixels.…”

“…A pixelated display imposes a secondary limit on minimum and comfortable text sizes that is especially relevant for VR and AR displays . The minimum font size for readable pixelated text is usually taken as 10 pt, with 12 pt preferred . These font sizes correspond to pixel heights of 13 and 16 arcmin, respectively .…”
