Efficacy and Safety of Ecabet Sodium as an Adjuvant Therapy for Helicobacter pylori Eradication: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

Abstract: Supplementation with ecabet sodium during H. pylori eradication therapy improves the eradication rate. The use of ecabet sodium does not increase the side effects based on our meta-analysis.

“…A similar agent to bismuth, ecabet sodium, can also be used as a component of a four-drug regimen against H. pylori. A meta-analysis comparing regimens containing ecabet to triple therapies showed that the eradication rate in the ecabet-containing quadruple therapy group was higher than that in the standard triple therapy group (85 vs 75%, OR 1.757 95%CI: 1.307-2.362) [50].…”

“…The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse events between the minocycline group and the tetracycline group, with both showing relatively high rates (55.4% [102/184] and 53.3% [98/184], P > 0.05). But a meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials on minocycline quadruple therapy for eradicating H. pylori 17 showed that the incidence of adverse reactions in the minocycline quadruple therapy group was similar to that in comparator groups using doxycycline, tetracycline, clarithromycin, and others. The results of our study showed that the common adverse reactions associated with the minocycline‐vonoprazan regimen were abdominal discomfort and nausea.…”

“…As well, the resistance in bacteria promotes us to find new taps of drugs, and the natural kingdom seems to be an untapped source for promising antibacterial agents [1][2][3]. In addition, green synthesis of metallic nanoparticles has been adopted to accommodate various bio-materials (e.g., bacteria, fungi, algae, and plant extracts) [4] as a simple and easy process [5] used as antimicrobial agents [6], and possessed antifungal, anti-bacterial, anti…”
