“…The largest study investigating PDL treatment (fluence 12–13.5 J/cm 2 , spot size 7 mm, pulse duration 10 ms, and ice pack cooling) of angiokeratomas was conducted by Su et al (Su et al, ) and involved 50 patients with angiokeratoma of Mibelli. There was significant improvement (defined as 60–100% clearance) in 80% of patients and 30% showed complete resolution (defined as 95–100% clearance).…”

“…An advantage of using the PDL to treat genital angiokeratomas is that it requires minimal anesthesia, and topical agents are often sufficient (Lapidoth et al, ; Oni & Mahaffey, ). Reported adverse effects are modest and include bleeding (lasting minutes) (Lapidoth et al, ), purpura, and edema (lasting 12 hours to several days) (Su et al, ). Permanent side effects may include skin pigment and texture changes (Baumgartner, Simaljakova, & Babal, ), but lower fluence settings can decrease the risk of post‐treatment dyspigmentation (Campbell, Dimitropoulos, & Brown, ).…”
