“…Other notable factors associated with vaccine hesitancy included healthcare workers in non-clinical roles (compared to those in clinical roles) ( n = 7), [ 15 , 61 , 64 , 65 , 70 , 73 , 87 ] increased religiosity ( n = 5), [ 31 , 37 , 40 , 56 , 57 ] residing in rural areas ( n = 5), [ 46 , 65 , 68 , 86 , 100 ] reduced trust in government and pharmaceutical industry ( n = 7) [ 20 , 37 , 41 , 56 , 79 , 92 , 102 ] and increased passage of time in a pandemic ( n = 5) [ 34 , 68 , 71 , 75 , 94 ].…”

“…This study also shows that concerns about rushed vaccine development lower the willingness to get vaccinated. McPhedran and Toombs (2021) [ 19 ] analyzed the determinants of COVID-19 vaccination in the UK and showed the importance of vaccine efficacy in determining the selection of COVID-19 vaccines. This finding is consistent with the findings of Harapan et al, (2020) [ 20 ], who studied the COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia.…”

“…In this study, a vaccine selection decision-making model (VSDMM) was developed. Six criteria were identified to support vaccine selection: (1) vaccine availability which depends on the accessibility to the vaccine and its manufacturing location; (2) vaccine formula, which includes recombinant, subunit, inactivated, viral vector, DNA, and RNA; (3) vaccine efficacy [ 23 ], which can lead to an increase in the value of the vaccine; (4) vaccine-related side effects, which may be major or minor and their prevalence (In this regard, mild and infrequent side effects will lead to a higher value for the vaccine); (5) cost savings, which include vaccine price, transportation costs, and storage costs, and (6) host-related factors, which include age, immune status, body mass index, and comorbidities, including heart diseases, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and immune disorders. In this regard, a vaccine that is suitable for all ages and for patients with different comorbidities will have a higher value.…”
