Eight-channel x-ray spectrometer for 0.2–1.5 keV energy range with high time and energy resolution

Abstract: An eight-channel soft x-ray spectrometer has been developed, manufactured, and calibrated. Each channel consists of a calibrated bandpass filter, multilayer mirror, and vacuum x-ray diode. The accuracy of channel sensitivity calibration is ⩽ 15%. The time resolution of the spectrometer is Δt≈150 ps and energy resolution is E/ΔE⩾20.

“…The other modifications of spectrometers are available such as the 8-channel spectrometer for the energy ranges of 0.2-1 .5 KeY (designers A.V. Bessarab et al) 10 and the spectrometer with the secondary target for the simultaneous analysis of 25 elements in powder or liquid samples (designer l.A. Tolokonnikov). ' It should mention the contribution of experimental workshops of the Rostov-on-Don State University to the progress of XRF analysis in Russia (KRUS, DRUS, KRFS spectrometers).…”

“…Data for the different instruments of the same type are rather close. These data are presented in one page in order to demonstrate the opportunities of XRF, which are better than [10][11][12][13][14][15] years ago. In analysis of the water solutions and petroleum the obtained detection limits are from 0.13 to 1 ppm.…”
