Ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des relativen Wassergehaltes des Stratum corneum der menschlichen Haut

Abstract: A methods is described which allows the humidity measurement of the horny layer of the human skin. The method is based on the correlation between the direct current conduction at 3.0 V and the gravimetrically analyzed humidity of a homogenous skin model. The validity of this model is mainly limited by the nonhomogenous distribution of humidity in the stratum corneum. This method is applied to healthy human skin to find out the dynamic response of the skin to moisturization by water bath. It is a surprising res… Show more

“…Water is another skin component that has quantitative and structural changes with aging that are poorly understood. In most studies only stratum corneum water has been investigated (Hegner et al, 1981;Wiener et al, 1981;Potts et al, 1984;Elsner et al, 1994;Aisen et al, 1997). The general belief is that aged skin is ''drier,'' i.e., contains less water.…”

“…Previously in dermatological research, majority of the work have been done to find out the behavior of skin moisture [8] using occlusion dressing, before and after removing, with the help of a device (Hygroton RF-820). In another work, [9], a water bath method was developed to determine the dynamic response of the skin.…”
