Sportif faaliyetler, insanların artan boş zamanları sonrasında en çok tercih ettikleri ve birçok ülkenin de en önemli gelir kaynaklarından biri hâline dönüşmüştür. Bununla birlikte günümüzde “Rekreasyon” kavramı da bir sportif hareketliliğe dönüşmüş ve uzun vadeli programlarla insanların ruhsal, fiziksel ve sosyal gelişmelerine ve çevreyle bütünleşmelerine katkı sunmaya başlamıştır. Şehir hayatının yoğunluğu, yaşanan doğal felaketler ve salgın hastalıklar, son yıllarda doğa turizmini en çok ilgi gören serbest zaman aktivitelerinden biri hâline getirmiştir. Ancak bu tür aktivitelerde bulunmak isteyenler, nerelerde hangi tür faaliyetlerin yapılabileceği konusundaki bilgiye ulaşmakta sorunlar yaşayabilmektedir. Bu nedenle sportif rekreaktif alanlara sahip bu tür yerlerin özelliklerinin önceden belirlenmesi hem bu yerleri kullanacaklar için hem de buraların bilinirliği açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Elâzığ ili sınırları dâhilinde bulunan Saklıkapı Kanyonu’nun sportif amaçlı rekreaktif faaliyetlere ve turizme açılabilmesi için sahip olduğu özelliklerinin ortaya çıkarılması, rota tayinlerinin yapılması, projelerin ve turistik alt yapı ihtiyaçlarının belirlenmesi ve buna göre planlamanın yapılmasıdır. Bu çalışmada, literatür ve arazi gözlemlerinden elde edilen veriler ile birlikte Saklıkapı Kanyonu’nun spor amaçlı rekreaktif potansiyeli değerlendirilmiştir. Son 2 yıl içerisinde sahaya çeşitli dönemlerde farklı güzergâhlardan gidilerek coğrafi özellikler gözlenmiş, çizimler yapılmış, fotoğraf çekimlerinin yanı sıra drone kullanılarak saha taranmıştır. İnceleme alanın sahip olduğu sportif amaçlı rekreaktif yerlerin konum ve özellikleri; haritalara işlenerek ve görsellerle ifade edilerek açıklanmıştır. Ülkemiz turizmi yönünden çok değerli olacağı tahmin edilen Saklıkapı Kanyonu’nun Elâzığ ili ve kanyonun bulunduğu Baskil ilçesinin ekonomisine önemli katkı sağlayacak bir potansiyele sahip olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Saklıkapı Kanyonu'nun spor amaçlı ve rekreaktif faaliyetler için oldukça uygun alanlara sahip olduğu, özellikle kanyonun tabanının spor amaçlı rekreaktif aktiviteler açısından oldukça uygun bir eğime ve tamamında yürünebilir bir parkur özelliğine sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sportif ve rekreaktif aktiviteler açısından kanyon oldukça zengin olup; trekking, dağ bisikleti, çadır kampçılığı, dağcılık, kaya ve normal tırmanışlar, kuş gözlemciliği, olta balıkçılığı, kano ve zipline için oldukça uygundur.

Ecotourism, a new term in tourism literature, is defined as an approach that sustains using natural sources while preserving them in the context of ensuring their sustainability and accordingly economic development of local residents by providing them tourism activities while preventing from natural, social and cultural degradation. The comprehension of ecotourism phenomenon plays an important role for tourism students especially for the ones who are going to take part in decision maker positions in the future. The present study is aimed to explore Akdeniz University undergraduate and postgraduate students' perception of ecotourism and Antalya destination. The questionnaire contains 24 items to measure students' vacation preferences, their considerations about ecotourism and ecotourism perceptions for Antalya destination. The questionnaire is administered to a total of 227 tourism students, 197 undergraduate, 30 postgraduate. Data gathered from 227 students are tested with specific statistical analyses methods and the results are considered as beneficial for the literature. According to the results, 53.3% of participants define ecotourism as "a tourism that explains nature and teaches it practically" and 47.1% of them define it as "a tourism that includes nature trips and related activities". It is determined that there is a significant difference between the perceptions of students who have participated in ecotourism activities before and the perception of the ones who haven't. In addition, the perception mean of the students who have participated in ecotourism activities is higher than the perception mean of the others.
