The aim of this study of Spanish health personnel is to determine their level of knowledge about hate violence and their relevance in detecting victims of hate violence and clarifying the magnitude of the phenomenon. An exploratory study with a descriptive, observational, and cross-sectional design was conducted, with incidental non-probabilistic sampling and an ad hoc questionnaire to health professionals in three Autonomous Communities of Spain. Our results indicate a general lack of knowledge about hate violence by health staff who acknowledged that they do not have specific training for hate violence victims’ care, although most staff had attended to some cases of hate violence in the last year. No significant differences were found among healthcare services, professionals, training, or Autonomous Communities, which indicated a generalized lack of training and specific tools that was common in the different health services and in different Autonomous Communities in Spain. The health services that reported most cases of hate violence ex officio were those in which the professionals had more training and knowledge and in which there were specific protocols on hate violence. In conclusion, the health system constitutes “the gateway” to the care, promotion, and prevention of hate violence victims. However, political actions are necessary to avoid the lack of knowledge and lack of training and professional tools that are widespread among healthcare staff. Therefore, the training of professionals and the establishment of specific protocols for action against hate violence would improve the care and long-term monitoring of victims, and the implementation of an epidemiological registry and surveillance system of hate violence would improve the care and prevention of hate violence in Spain.

La emoción del odio, y sus impactos, poseen una singularidad y características insuficientemente analizadas desde una perspectiva antropológica y la teoría social de las emociones. Se exploran cuestiones epistemológicas y metodológicas presentes en todo proceso de investigación relacionado con una emoción tan compleja como el odio, sus afectaciones vitales en las personas que sufren sus violencias, y cómo ésta se atiende y gestiona por el sistema sanitario. Estudio cualitativo exploratorio con enfoque fenomenológico, basado en el análisis del discurso de los profesionales sanitarios y víctimas de violencias de odio. Se presentan resultados cualitativos del proyecto europeo SHELTER (2018-2021) cuyo objetivo ha sido mejorar la atención y cuidado de las víctimas de delitos de odio en el ámbito sociosanitario. Enfocamos algunas paradojas como la baja visibilidad de las violencias del odio y sus efectos, y cómo condiciona y afecta a las acciones e intervenciones planificadas orientadas a la identificación, gestión y reducción de su impacto en las víctimas. El análisis plantea algunos puntos de atención y retos a considerar para futuras investigaciones y proyectos de intervención social y sociosanitaria en el campo de las violencias de odio, un problema emergente de salud pública en las sociedades europeas.

Respecto a la violencia, el cuestionario se fundamentó en la Escala de Violencia (EV) 19,29 y estuvo estructurado por 20 ítems que se dividieron en cuatro dimensiones: violencia física (siete ítems); violencia psicológica (cinco ítems), violencia sexual (tres ítems) y violencia económica (cinco ítems). La categorización según niveles se realizó en tres tipos: violencia leve (0-10 puntos), violencia moderada (10-12 puntos) y violencia severa (mayor a 12 puntos).…”

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal, que planteó determinar la asociación entre la violencia de género y el trastorno de estrés postraumático en mujeres peruanas. La muestra estuvo constituida por 105 mujeres que se atendieron en la División de Medicina Legal II de la provincia del Santa (Perú). Para recolección de la información se utilizaron dos instrumentos que fueron sometidos a validez y confiabilidad, la violencia de género se midió mediante un cuestionario constituido por 20 ítems, y el trastorno por estrés postraumático por un cuestionario de 16 ítems. Los resultados evidencian que el 56,2% de mujeres agredidas presentan violencia leve y el 61,9% no presentan síntomas de trastorno de estrés postraumático. Finalmente, se encontró alta asociación significativa entre la violencia de género y los trastornos de estrés postraumático.
