Electric Motors for Variable-Speed Drive of Lock Valves

Abstract: Improving the operational reliability of nuclear power plants, combined heat and power plants (CHP), as well as oil and gas pipelines is a priority task in the development of a variable-speed drive for lock valves used at these facilities. This paper analyzes the technical requirements for such devices: the motor has been selected, its electrical equilibrium and moment equations have been obtained; recommendations for the selection of the kinematic drive scheme have been formulated. Based on the theoretical da… Show more

“…With the development of hydraulic technology and control theory, fluid transmission and control technology is presenting new, vigorous development in the field of vehicles [1][2][3]. During the shifting of the vehicle, the friction elements in the shifting clutch undergo a slipping process during separation and engagement, which is inevitably accompanied by a torque disturbance, generating a corresponding shifting impact and affecting the stability of the shifting.…”

“…A dynamometer is one of the important devices for performance and equipment testing in motor manufacturing and product R&D. It can be used to simulate and control the load of the tested motor so as to measure the torque, speed, current, voltage, power, efficiency, and other parameters of the motor, as well as for other special dynamic test items, such as safety test, dynamic balance test, NVH test (vibration/noise/life), etc. [1][2][3][4][5][6]. With the development of modern technology, in addition to conventional items such as motor speed, torque, voltage, and current, the requirements for the motor transient performance test are also increased [7][8][9][10].…”
