Electrochemical behavior of isoproterenol in the presence of uric acid and folic acid at a carbon paste electrode modified with 2,7-bis(ferrocenyl ethyl)fluoren-9-one and carbon nanotubes

Abstract: This paper reports the selective determination of isoproterenol (IP) in the presence of uric acid (UA) and folic acid (FA) using 2,7-bis(ferrocenyl ethyl)fluoren-9-one modified carbon nanotube paste electrode (2,7-BFCNPE) in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (PBS) (pH 7.0). The bare carbon paste electrode does not separate the voltammetric signals of IP, UA, and FA. However, 2,7-BFCNPE not only resolved the voltammetric signals of IP, UA, and FA with potential differences of 150, 325, and 475 mV between IP-UA, U… Show more

“…This is due to their uncomplicated preparation, low cost, high conductivity, and biocompatibility. CNTs are one of the carbonaceous materials that have already been well inspected for the design of electrochemical sensors with fabulous physical and chemical properties, including high conductivity and large surface area [32][33].…”

“…Besides the advantageous properties and characteristics listed before, the feasibility of incorporation of different substances during the paste preparation (which results in the so-called modified carbon paste electrode), allow the fabrication of electrodes with desired composition, and hence, with predetermined properties. [31][32][33][34] Therefore, in the present work, we describe the preparation of a new electrode modified with N-(ferrocenylmethylidene)fluorene-2-amine and graphene/ /ZnO nanocomposite and investigate its performance for the electrocatalytic determination of captopril in aqueous solutions.…”

“…On the other hand uric acid (UA) is a metabolic waste produced through the breakdown of purine which is very much referred to clinical diagnosis . High blood levels of this compound can cause hyperuricemia, Lesch‐Nyhan syndrome and gout . Gout is a very common condition created due to high levels of UA in blood, which results in the precipitation of UA crystals in joints.…”
