Electrochemical Study of Lead Species in Acetate Media:In Situ Formation of Alkyl and Lead Species on CarbonPaste Electrode

Abstract: In situ formation of a film with alkyl and lead from Pb(NO3)2 over carbon paste electrodes was electrochemically studied. The experiments were carried out at two pH values (3.06 and 6.65) using acetate buffer (CH3COOH/CH3COONa) as supporting electrolyte. It was found that at both pH values the alkyl and lead species are formed, in agreement with IR‐ATR and SEM with X‐ray probe experiments of the film over ITO. At pH 6.65 a stable film is formed.
