“…According to American Psychiatric Association, ECT is widely considered as the most effective antidepressant treatment in medication resistant depression.Multiple studies have also indicated ECT to be effective in the treatment of both manic, depressed phases of bipolar disorder and included it as an optional treatment for refractory bipolar disorder [6][7][8][9][10][11] .
