Electrodeposition of PEDOT-rGO film in aqueous solution for detection of acetaminophen in traditional medicaments

Abstract: This paper develops a novel and convenient approach to deposit poly(3,4ethylenedioxythiophene)-reduced graphene oxide (PEDOT-rGO) hybrid film in aqueous solution through electrochemical process. The PEDOT-rGO film exhibited supperior charge transfer capability with charge transfer resistance of 1333 Ω.cm −2 and standard transfer rate constant of 0.145 s −1 , which makes it a promising material for electrochemical sensing applications. The glassy carbon electrode modified with PEDOT-rGO showed good electrocatal… Show more

“…The vibration bands at 1271 and 1488 cm −1 are attributed to the stretching mode of C=C and inter-ring stretching mode of C-C in the thiophene chain. 41,42 These bands confirmed the successful polymer formation of our PEDOTOH using electropolymerization both in DCM and DI water.…”

“…Moreover, humans have not shown any inflammation when exposed to PEDOT; [101] therefore, PEDOTbased compounds have been widely applied for detecting biomolecules and many other electrochemically active species, such as antioxidants and medicines (Table 6). [112][113][114][115][116][117][118][119][120][121][122][123][124] Meng et al [112] proposed a composite based on GQDs and PEDOT for detecting rutin, which is a component in herbal medicines used for treating cardiovascular diseases. GQDs were obtained using a bottom-up method employing citric acid as organic precursor in the presence of NaOH.…”

“…Recently, the number of works using the one-step approach has increased. This approach consists of a single step for obtaining the graphene-polymer composite through simultaneous synthesis and deposition (or alternating layers) of the graphene oxide and polymer species by simply modulating the applied electrochemical potential [6,41,78,[87][88][89][90][91][92][93][94][95].…”

“…Acetaminophen is a drug widely used worldwide due to its analgesic and antipyretic properties. In this sense, Ly and collaborators [94] built a graphene polymer-based sensory platform to detect acetaminophen in traditional medicines. The sensorial platform was built in a single step using an electrochemical cyclic voltammetry technique.…”
