Elimination of zero sequence circulating current between parallel operating three-level inverters

Abstract: Abstract-In order to suppress the zero sequence circulating currents (ZSCCs) between parallel operating three level voltage source inverters with common AC and DC buses, a common mode voltage reduction PWM (CMVR-PWM) technique and neural point potentials (NPPs) control based method is proposed in this paper. An equivalent model of ZSCC is developed, and two excitation sources of ZSCC, differences of common mode voltages (CMVs) and NPPs between paralleled inverters, are analyzed. A CMVR-PWM method is investigat… Show more

“…Based on the current sharing and NPP balance control proposed in this paper, PI control of ZSCC [36] and the proposed method are used to verify the effect of the circulating current suppression, respectively. The following are three cases of parameter mismatch for two parallel‐connected inverters.…”

“…Besides, all the methods mentioned above are mainly focused on two‐level inverters. In [25], an improved zero common‐mode voltage PWM (ZCMV‐PWM) technique and ZSCC feedback control method is presented to suppress the ZSCC between parallel operating 3LT 2 Is. However, the additional electric circuit used for the neutral point potentials (NPPs) balance control increases the cost and size.…”
