A systematic review on trends in using Moodle for teaching and learning

Background The Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) is widely used in online teaching and learning, especially in STEM education. However, educational research on using Moodle is scattered throughout the literature. Therefore, this review aims to summarise this research to assist three sets of stakeholders—educators, researchers, and software developers. It identifies: (a) how and where Moodle has been adopted; (b) what the concerns, trends, and gaps are to lead future research and software development; and (c) innovative and effective methods for improving online teaching and learning. The review used the 4-step PRISMA-P process to identify 155 suitable journal articles from 104 journals in 55 countries published from January 2015 to June 2021. The database search was conducted with Scopus and Web of Science. Insights into the educational use of Moodle were determined through bibliometric analysis with Vosviewer outputs and thematic analysis. Results This review shows that Moodle is mainly used within University STEM disciplines and effectively improves student performance, satisfaction, and engagement. Moodle is increasingly being used as a platform for adaptive and collaborative learning and used to improve online assessments. The use of Moodle is developing rapidly to address academic integrity, ethics, and security issues to enhance speed and navigation, and incorporate artificial intelligence. Conclusion More qualitative research is required on the use of Moodle, particularly investigating educators’ perspectives. Further research is also needed on the use of Moodle in non-STEM and non-tertiary disciplines. Further studies need to incorporate educational theories when designing courses using the Moodle platform.

The Learning Management System is a supporter of online learning management so that the teaching and learning process remains quality like face-to-face. This study aims to develop a mobile learning management system application using the flutter framework for students at the Telkom Purwokerto Institute of Technology with the User Centered Design method. This research creates a mobile-based Learning Management System that can be accessed and functions according to the needs of users, namely students. The application test results show that all functions run according to user needs so that this system can help make online learning easier via smartphones.

A Systematic Literature Review on Latest Keystroke Dynamics Based Models

The purpose of this study is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and analysis of the most recent studies on the implications of keystroke dynamics (KD) patterns in user authentication, identification, and the determination of useful information. Another aim is to provide an extensive and up-to-date survey of the recent literature and potential research directions to understand the present state-of-the-art methodologies in this particular domain that are expected to be beneficial for the KD research community. From January 1st, 2017 to March 13th, 2022, the popular six electronic databases have been searched using a search criterion ("keystroke dynamics" OR "typing pattern") AND ("authentication" OR "verification" OR "identification"). With this criterion, a total of nine thousand three hundred forty-eight results, including duplicates, were produced. However, one thousand five hundred forty-seven articles have been chosen after removing duplicates and preliminary screening. Due to insufficient information, only one hundred twentyseven high-quality quantitative research articles have been included in the article selection process. We compared and summarised several factors with multiple tables to comprehend the various methodologies, experimental settings, and findings. In this study, we have identified six unique KD-based designs and presented the status of findings toward an effective solution in authentication, identification, and prediction. We have also discovered considerable heterogeneity across studies in each KD-based design for desktops and smartphones separately. Finally, this paper found a few open research challenges and provided some indications for a deeper understanding of the issues and further study.
