“…These findings encourage our assignment of butanone as 'respirator peak'. 2-Methylpentane, a branched-chain alkane and a structural isomer of hexane, is associated with major emission by vehicle pollutants [38]. Yoshida et al were able to demonstrate an observable absorption amount of 2-methylpentane by inhalation in a rat model based on the knowledge of well-known diffusion from, e.g.…”

“…According to our tunnel tests in Tianjin, the EFs (mg km −1 veh −1 ) were 1.97±0.52 for benzene, 0.66±0.26 for ethylbenzene, 3.29±1.10 for toluene, 0.48±0.19 for o-xylene, and 1.42±0.42 for m/p-xylene. The emission level of BTEX in this study was compared to that of reported tunnel studies in Taiwan in 2000 (Hwa et al, 2002), Hong Kong in 2003(Ho et al, 2009, Guangzhou in 2004(Zhang et al, 2018c, Taiwan in 2005(Hung-Lung et al, 2007, Guangzhou in 2014 (Zhang et al, 2018c), Nanjing in 2015 (Zhang et al, 2018b), and Hong Kong in 2015 (Cui et al, 2018). As shown in Fig.9, the BTEX levels tested in recent four years (Guangzhou in 2014, Nanjing in 2015, Hong Kong in 2015, and Tianjin in 2017 decreased when compared to those tested during the last decades (Taiwan in 2000, Hong Kong in 2003, Guangzhou in 2004, and Taiwan in 2005.…”

“…Figure 9. The BTEX levels observed in different tunnel studies (Taiwan in 2000(Hwa et al, 2002l; Hong Kong in 2003(Ho et al, 2009; Guangzhou in 2004(Zhang et al, 2018c; Taiwan in 2005(Hung-Lung et al, 2007; Guangzhou in 2014 (Zhang et al, 2018c); Nanjing in 2015 (Zhang et al, 2018b); Hong Kong in 2015 (Cui et al, 2018)), and the linear regressions (dash-dot lines filled with 95% regression confidence intervals) between the emission factors of BTEX and the test years.…”

“…There are a series of studies analyzing on-road emissions [17][18][19][20][21][22]; some of them focus on different vehicle emission equipment, and others concern characteristics of regional vehicle emission. Others concern regional vehicle emission characteristics which were conducted in China, especially Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions [23][24][25], yet little attention is paid to the southwest.…”
