PurposeThe purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of technology orientation (TO) on firm performance (FP). This study also aims to identify the mediating role of firm innovativeness (FI) in the relation between TO and FP.Design/methodology/approachQuantitative approach has been adopted for analyzing the impact of TO on FP in software houses located in two big cities of Pakistan. Mean, standard deviation, correlation and regression analysis were used.FindingsResults proved that of TO predicts FP and FI mediate the relationship between TO and FP.Practical implicationsThis study used cross-sectional further studies may be conducted using longitudinal research design for achieving in-depth insights.Social implicationsSoftware houses should focus on TO and innovativeness for improving their performance.Originality/valueThis research guides the way to improve performance TO and innovativeness of software houses based on the empirical results.

Currently, the intensification of the digital development of the investment and construction sector is an urgent task both abroad and in Russia. The article substantiates the relevance of conducting a comprehensive digital transformation at the level of various subjects of investment and construction activities, analyzes foreign and domestic theoretical approaches to digital transformation of construction organizations, and also discusses the problems of digital transformation of subjects of investment and construction activities from the point of view of technological support and human resourcing. As a result of the study, the authors evaluated some practical results of the transition of the Russian construction sector to digital economy technologies, identified the need for a multilateral approach to the digital transformation of construction, recommended measures to improve the interaction processes of investment and construction entities, and also proposed a mechanism for intensifying the digital transformation of investment and construction activities in Russia.

Methodical approaches for creation of intelligent management information systems by means of energy resources of technical facilities

As part of the development of the digital economy both abroad and in the Russian Federation, the management of energy resources based on the use of digital technologies is one of the key tasks in improving infrastructure in order to ensure the efficient functioning of technical facilities providing the operation of capital construction projects. Currently, the spread of information and communication technologies is the basis for the development of intelligent management information systems for energy resources, which requires further theoretical and practical studies and the development of conceptually new methodological approaches to the formation of these systems. As a result of the study, the authors have identified problems in the Russian energy sector and defined methodological approaches to improving energy management systems in the functioning of intelligent buildings and structures. The result of the study is an algorithm for creation of a server center for energy consumption reduction during the operation of utilities and electrical equipment of intelligent buildings and structures, real-time monitoring of energy consumers and forecasting the energy consumption of intelligent structures and buildings (ISB), which will provide for accumulation of data necessary for optimal energy planning and will improve the soundness of management decisions.
