Abstract:A simple and eco-friendly procedure for determining total phosphate content in water has been developed by combining a miniaturized ion-associated complex-based preconcentration method with energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF). The method is based on indirect determination of phosphorus using molybdenum present in the ion-associated complex formed by 12-molybdophosphate and crystal violet. Since phosphorus is determined indirectly, via fluorescent radiation of molybdenum, the difficulties … Show more
“…The durability of these discs was assessed to validate their robustness during measurement by the conventional WDXRF technique. The accuracy of the method was conrmed using ICP-MS. A simple and eco-friendly procedure 252 for determining total phosphate content in surface water was developed by combining a miniaturised ion-associated complex-based pre-concentration method with EDXRF spectrometry. The method was based on indirect determination of P using Mo present in the ion-associated complex formed by 12-molybdophosphate and crystal violet thereby overcoming difficulties stemming from low uorescence yield and low energy of P Ka radiation.…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
