Energy Management for a Port Integrated Energy System Based on Distributed Dual Decomposition Mixed Integer Linear Programming

Abstract: This paper proposes a distributed energy management strategy, based on dual decomposition mixed integer linear programming for port integrated energy systems (PIESs), to improve the utilization of renewable energy, and to foster green ports. Firstly, due to the distributed characteristics presented by various heterogeneous devices, a polymorphic network-based PIES was established, instead of the traditional single IP protocol, incorporating electricity replacement and energy conversion devices. Secondly, takin… Show more

“…However, this adjustment still fails to meet the thermal load requirements, resulting in a curtailment in thermal load. From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., considering the inertia of the hot water tank, the medium temperature remains within the permissible range, i.e., T m tan k ≤ T t tan k ≤ T ex tan k , leading to x t Qcut = 0 (t ∈ [6,14]). Then, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., the fault remains unresolved, and the thermal load curtailment continues.…”

“…Linear programming and bi-objective optimization are particularly effective in long-and medium-term forecasts, reducing maximum errors significantly [22]. In Teng's paper [23], a distributed dual decomposition MILP-based energy management strategy for port-integrated energy systems is proposed to ensure reliable seaport operations.…”

“…Liu [23] proposes a distributed adjustable robust optimal scheduling algorithm to reduce operation costs. According to the above research, various methods, including ADMM [24], the double Newton descent method [25], the gradient descent method [26], and the subgradient descent method [27] can be used to solve the port energy dispatch problem in the disturbed pattern. The complement of the above-distributed algorithms relies on information transmission and distributed computation, which require a large amount of computing resources.…”
