Enhanced Crystallinity of Triple-Cation Perovskite Film via Doping NH4SCN

Abstract: The trap-state density in perovskite films largely determines the photovoltaic performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Increasing the crystal grain size in perovskite films is an effective method to reduce the trap-state density. Here, we have added NH 4 SCN into perovskite precursor solution to obtain perovskite films with an increased crystal grain size. The perovskite with increased crystal grain size shows a much lower trap-state density compared with reference perovskite films, resulting in an impro… Show more

“…The tiny peaks at 12.62° belong to PbI 2 crystal grains. [ 17 ] Although there is no noticeable peak shift, PHAI doped MAPbI 3 film shows narrower width of (110) diffraction peak as can be seen in Figure 2f. This narrower width indicates lower full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the XRD peak which supports improved crystallinity and higher average grain size.…”

“…Larger crystallites should lead to a reduced amount of grain boundaries. [60] The light to dark current ratio (I light /I dark ) was estimated for each electrode distance, with (BTBT) 2 CsPb 2 I 7 reaching the highest value of almost 2000 at a voltage bias of 15 V (Figure S11, Supporting Information). However, as the I light /I dark ratio depends on the amount of light absorbed by the device, a better detector performance metric is given by the specific detectivity D*.…”

“…The top-view SEM images of BA 2 MA 3 Pb 4 I 13 film with various amounts of H 2 O additive are shown in Fig. 3ac, and the corresponding cross-section SEM images are [45,46]. Therefore, the perovskite-3% H 2 O films with larger vertically oriented crystal grains contribute to efficient PVSCs.…”
