“…However, much work is still required to effectively increase the J sc value of the PBDTThQx‐based OPVs. For example, we need to insert novel buffer layers into the device, optimize the annealing treatment, and modify the electrodes . Therefore, PBDTThQx will be a promising donor candidate for photovoltaic devices, and further improvement in PBDTThQx‐based OPVs can be foreseen.…”

“…The larger the R sr , the less the voltage drop on the diode is, which results in a slower increase of J with V rising, accordingly the less "square" the J-V curve becomes. [30,31] Generally R sr is composed of (i) bulk resistance of the organic layer, (ii) bulk resistance of the electrodes, (iii) contact resistance of each interface in the device, and (iv) probe resistance. Since it is the numerical simulation here and the contacts of anode and cathode are Ohmic contacts, the resistances mentioned in items (ii)-(iv) are negligible.…”

“…[9] To improve the active layer light harvesting capability, many researches exploring small band gap materials or combining different organic materials with complementary absorption spectra in one device have been carried out. [10][11][12][13][14] Various methods, such as solvent annealing, [15] additives, [16][17][18][19] thermal annealing, [20] and electrode modification, [21,22] have been empolyed to increase the power conversion efficiency (PCE). Buffer layers or ultrathin films, including PE-DOT:PSS, LiF, MoO 3 , WO 3 , V 2 O 5 , CsCO 3 , and TiO 2 , have been used to modify the electrodes to improve the device performance.…”
