Enhanced Piezoelectric Properties Enabled by Engineered Low-Dimensional Nanomaterials

Abstract: Today's electronic products are moving toward personal, portable, and flexible electronics with the integration of multifunctional sensors and self-powering technologies. Consequently, efficient and highperformance mechanical−electronic interfaces will be heavily considered in the development of future electronics. Piezotronic materials are active components for the conversion of mechanical stimuli to electrical signals and vice versa. In particular, low-dimensional (LD) materials offer greater efficiencies in… Show more

“…From the surveyed literature, we have found that utilizing low dimensional (LD) materials for piezoelectric materials could enhance the piezoelectric response compared to their bulk forms. 97 Recently, Wang et al 98 reported the piezoelectric response for 2-D SnS 2 nanosheets with thickness of $4 nm and pointed out that the piezoelectric responses reduce with an increase in the thickness of the nanosheets. They obtained an effective out-of-plane piezoelectric response of 2 AE 0.22 pm V À1 .…”

“…Additionally, electronic textiles with distinctive qualities like permeability, elastic modulus, and washability open up a wide range of possibilities for wearable technology. However, when used in particular settings, pressure and tension sensors have a number of drawbacks that prevent their widespread commercial application [ 334 , 335 , 336 ]. The sensitivity to minute strain changes in the human body is hampered by the low detection limit of many mature tension sensors now in use.…”

“…Global warming is becoming a critical issue in 21st century therefore ways to exploring alternative clean energy and reducing greenhouse gases emissions are emerging in recent years 1–3 . Cyclic chemical absorption/regeneration process is the most mature and widely utilized treatment and separation technology for the removal of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) from industrial exhaust gas streams for the purpose of reducing greenhouse gas emission 4–7 .…”
