Entrepreneur barrier analysis on renewable energy promotion in the context of Pakistan using Pythagorean fuzzy AHP method

Abstract: Ideal energy policies based on the identification of main obstacles might indorse the growth of renewable energy. In light of the importance of promoting entrepreneurship in renewable energy resources, the current study examined the barriers to develop renewable energy entrepreneurship in Pakistan. As a result, the current study proposes a systematic approach for prioritizing hurdles to entrepreneurship based on their relevance. The research was split into two parts. To begin, a literature survey and interview… Show more

“…Some elements might impact a nation's economic growth (Ortiz et al, 2019; Shobande & Ogbeifun, 2021). The excessive use of equipment connected to information and communication technologies in commercial and residential settings has significantly contributed to the rapid rise in overall electricity consumption (Shahzad et al, 2022). Biomass energy is one of the most significant renewable energy technologies for long‐term power generation.…”

“…An alternative to fossil fuel is biomass energy, which has seen growth in the past two decades. However, carbon emission is still rising due to many barriers to the expansion of biomass (Shahzad et al, 2022; Wahab et al, 2020; Yang & Umar, 2022). This analysis aims to provide insight into the obstacles to bioenergy in the context of the developing economy of Pakistan.…”

“…However, the study in Solaymani (2021) examined trends in energy consumption, policies, and development of renewable energies, as well as the causal link between renewable and non-renewable energies and economic growth utilizing two techniques. In addition, the study in Shahzad et al (2022) aimed to identify and prioritize the obstacles that entrepreneurs face in developing RE projects in Pakistan. Finally, the review in Yoro et al (2021) critically assessed current achievements in energy modeling and simulation, with limited insights into its methodologies, problems, and opportunities in a few renewable and sustainable energy systems (RSES).…”

“…Many fields such as finance, information technology, renewable energy, and medical diagnostics use MCDM as a great approach to solving multiplecriteria problems [6]. It helps to form the foundation for selecting, sorting, prioritizing materials, and meaningful assessment [7,8]. Many complex problems benefit from using MCDM, especially those focusing on selecting the best alternative.…”
