Environmental Warning System Based on the DPSIR Model: A Practical and Concise Method for Environmental Assessment

Abstract: Though we are in urgent need of environmental warnings to slow environmental deterioration, currently, there is no internationally concise method for environmental warnings. In addition, the existing approaches do not combine the three aspects of ecology, resources, and environment. At the same time, the three elements of the environment (air, water, and soil) are separated in most environmental warning systems. Thus, the method this paper gives is an innovative attempt and aims to make environmental assessmen… Show more

“…In order to maintain the sustainable development of society, humans will take measures to respond to these changes. This model has been used to analyze regional green economy development [22], regional adaptations to climate change [23], economic development and environmental warnings [24], and economic development and carbon emissions [25], and has achieved good results.…”

“…In order to maintain the sustainable development of society, humans will take measures to respond to these changes. This model has been used to analyze regional green economy development [22], regional adaptations to climate change [23], economic development and environmental warnings [24], and economic development and carbon emissions [25], and has achieved good results. Natural resources, population, science and technology, culture, and education determine the level of regional economic development from the aspects of regional resource richness, production and consumption capacity, productivity development level, and human resource quality.…”

“…In most of the DPSIR applications one key environmental variable has been considered, such as water [38], solid waste [39], air pollution [40]. However, an environmental assessment method based on the DPSIR framework that combines the three major environmental factors water, atmosphere, and soil was proposed by Wang [41].…”

“…Therefore, monitoring and detecting warning signs of changes in drinking water quality variables play an essential role in ensuring high-quality drinking water and avoiding health-related problems [18]. Many methods, such as data mining [19], instantaneous point source two-dimensional water quality modeling [20], the driving force-pressure-state-influence-response (DPSIR) model [21], the entropy-weight method [22], and the system dynamics (SD) model [23], have been used to predict temporal and spatial variability and trends and to model average pollutant concentration levels and peak values in primary urban drinking water sources.…”
