“…However, this contrasts with a study by Loáisiga Ledezma [19] that reported a good quality-of-life frequency of 37% [20]. Our study's finding of 29.6% of the ACS patients reporting a poor or fair qualityof-life index parallels what has been found in other studies in both Mexico [21] and the USA [22]. The fact that 7 out of 10 patients in our study reported having a good quality of life could be because the patients have a low dependence on their caregivers and are people with a high level of education.…”

Delor et al found that 46% of patients with ischemic stroke had some level of dependency [23].…”

“…A recent analysis of the RICA registry, which included 4752 patients hospitalised for HF in Spanish Internal Medicine departments between 2008 and 2018 showed a prevalence of HFpEF of 62.2%. 4 The HF patient profile represented in our study is that in which, a priori, we could expect greater prognostic benefit from a specialised therapeutic approach that includes aggressive dose titration of disease-modifying drugs, implantation of intracardiac devices and, in the case of refractory disease, advanced measures like heart transplant and mechanical ventricular assistance. 5 Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the selection of patients seen in our specialized consultation unit is a reflection of the clinical criteria of the doctors of reference, as the sole requirement that had to be met for their referral was the presence of a prior confirmed diagnosis of HF.…”
