Epididymitis: A 21-Year Retrospective Review of Presentations to an Outpatient Urology Clinic

Abstract: The majority of cases of epididymitis occur around the time of puberty in early adolescence, with relatively few cases occurring during infancy. Recurrent episodes of epididymitis are more common than previously reported and may affect as many as a fourth of all boys with acute epididymitis.

The first peak age of urinary tract infection (UTI) in men, according to Redshaw et al, 13 is around the time of puberty.
