Abstract:The principal focus of this chapter is on the epoxy compounds frequently encountered in industrial use as uncured epoxy resins. These resins are marketed in a variety of physical forms from low‐viscosity liquids to tack‐free solids and require admixture with curing agents to form hard and nonreactive cross‐linked polymers. They are in demand because of their toughness, high adhesive properties (polarity), low shrinkage in molds, and chemical inertness.
It is the uncured resins that are of main intere… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
