“…Brocq first described this entity in 1923 as “L'erythrose pigmenteé peri‐buccale,” reporting women with rough, dry skin and yellow‐brown pigmentation around the mouth and nose . After this first description, several names, including l'erythrose pigmentaire faciale , dermatose pigmentée médiofaciale , erythrosis pigmentosa peribuccalis , and erythrosis pigmentata faciei , have been given to this rare entity. A patient with EPPB and erythromelanosis follicularis faciei et colli (EFFC) has been reported , and although these two entities seem to be different since one affects mainly the perioral area and is more frequent in women and the other affects only the preauricular area and usually affects men and is more intensely erythematosus, they share histologic and clinical findings, so the name erythrosis pigmentosa faciei et colli has been proposed to include both spectrums of one disease .…”
