This study aims to examine changes in enterprise management during the COVID-19 pandemic and develop a universal mechanism for managing digital transformation. Its methodological basis is represented by a terminological analysis of the concepts of automation, digitalisation and digital transformation. Their close consideration enables us to form a conceptual scheme of business digitalisation. In sum, the study process shows that full-fledged and fruitful digital transformation can be achieved through restructuring a company’s business process management system. By comparing the outcomes of using digital platform-based business models, the most promising one was selected for use. Its practical application was studied in Azerbaijan, Russia, and Switzerland using the Network Readiness Index (NRI). The analysis made it possible to form business development strategies for each country reviewed and to develop a universal mechanism for digital transformation management by means of optimisation and modelling. The findings suggest that in pandemic settings, digital enterprise management concentrates on survival, self-learning and cooperation without intermediaries through innovation and the transformation of business processes. The strategies can be used to adopt digital technologies and attract investment. Further research can be directed at detailing the proposed mechanism.

This paper explores the influence of crisis-related information on customers’ recommendations and purchase intentions. Various studies have investigated the role of risk-related information in terms of its certainty and immediacy. This research introduces a model that differentiates and investigates different types of information provided by organizations through social network sites (SNSs) that are related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, including situational information and precautionary measures information specifically. The proposed model targeted users of SNSs in Saudi Arabia, where around 72.38% of its population is considered active SNSs users with 3 h of average daily time spent on SNSs. Based on the survey data collected from 356 online shoppers in Saudi Arabia, structural equation modeling (SEM) was applied to test the proposed model. The reliability of instrument was tested using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), where the results showed acceptable model fit indices (X2/df = 2.6, GFI = 0.93, CFI = 0.94, TLI = 0.93, and RMSEA = 0.067). Based on that, the structural model was built and tested, which also showed acceptable fit indices (X2/df = 2.9, GFI = 0.92, CFI = 0.93, TLI = 0.91, and RMSEA = 0.073). The findings highlight that situational and adopted precautionary measures information had a significant impact on recommendations (γ=0.73) and purchase intentions (γ=0.39). Further, organizations that hold themselves accountable for broadcasting updated information related to the crisis and disseminating the necessary preventive measures develop a high level of recommendations and purchase intentions among customers. A personal recommendation construct was confirmed as a partial mediator, where an indirect significant influence was found of broadcasting information on purchase intention through personal recommendation (γ=0.309). Therefore, this paper suggests that organizations should consider offering customers all the necessary types of information related to the COVID-19 crisis.

Digital transformation has been a topic of interest in the last decade. However, the concept of digital transformation project effectiveness remains unclear. Many people view digital transformation as a never-ending process. Therefore, many researchers use digital maturity to predict whether an organization will be successful in its digital transformation. However, the fact that the never-ending digital transformation process is actually developed upon the continuous implementation of various digitalization projects should not be ignored. The effectiveness of each digital transformation project influences the success of the long journey of an organization's digital transformation. This article aims to provide a conceptualization of digital transformation project effectiveness as a multi-dimensional construct. This new conceptualization was developed based on the evidence found in the literature and the literature review synthesis. This study shows that the Digital Transformation Project Effectiveness has four dimensions: Business Performance, Financial Performance, Digitally Fit People, and Sustainable Competitiveness. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to conceptualize the effectiveness of digital transformation as a short-term transformation project using the grounded theory method for a rigorous literature review. This study's findings are beneficial to both researchers and practitioners by giving more clarity and better comprehension regarding the concept of digital transformation project effectiveness, thus opening more room for further research and discussions.
