“…The expression of ER‐β is different in proximal versus distal colon; it is low in tumour tissue compared with normal colonic mucosa and is associated inversely with stage of colonic cancer. In vitro , oestradiol and ER agonists exert an inhibitory effect on colorectal cancer cell growth. In rat and mouse models, oophorectomy stimulated colorectal carcinogenesis, whereas oestrogen exposure was protective.…”

“…To carry out cell migration assay, we used a modified Boyden chamber (Corning) plate with 8-lm pore size polycarbonate membrane filters [15]. 1 9 10 4 of serumdeprived human colon HCT116 and HT 29 cells were added to the upper chamber, and the bottom chamber was filled with DMEM containing 20 % serum and incubated for 48 h. Then, 4 % paraformaldehyde was used to fix the cells on the membrane filter.…”

“…Ribosomal Protein (RP) is a ubiquitous RNA binding protein, the function of which is not only to participate jointly with ribosome RNA (rRNA) in the synthesis of protein, but also to take part in the regulation of gene transcription and the regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis through its extra-ribosomal functions (4,5). The abnormal expression of RP often results in serious diseases such as anemia and tumor (6).…”
