Usually, research in this field is focused on specific topics like non-destructive testing applied to study the state of preservation of plasterwork (Torres- González et al 2021a;Grazzini 2019;Torres-González et al 2021b;Dominguez Vidal et al 2012), methodologies comprising the survey, evaluation, and inspection of the preservation status of the building before the repair, replacement, and rehabilitation of gypsum plasterwork (Cotrim, do R.
