“…We focused on gastrointestinal disorders because many people die each year in Nepal due to gastrointestinal related diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery and cholera (Bhandari et al, 2009). The prevalence of these gastrointestinal ailments is likely due to malnutrition, poor hygiene, and lack of clean drinking water, as is the case in India (Dey and De, 2012). Notwithstanding the importance of addressing the public health issues at the root of gastrointestinal disorders, it is as crucial to improve our understanding of how these ailments can be treated.…”
