Etude comparative de quelques Ischyrosponges

Abstract: The study of several collections gathered in mediterranean countries, North Africa, Greece, Italy, Yougoslavia, South of France, and some other areas allows to precise the con¬ nection of a number of incertae sedis, supposed Algae or Stromatoporoids, to the Ischyrospongia (hypercalcified Sponges). The study concerns some palaeozoic forms either well known (. Amphipora , Stachyodes) ox less frequent (Aoujgaliida Termier, Termier et Vachard 1975), and mesozoic forms (Cladocoropsis, Sarmentofascis n. gen and Cons… Show more

“…Nevertheless, as the true E. elongata more resemble species of Donezella, we assign herein the misinterpreted taxon of Bogush et al (1990) Remarks. -Created as a distinct genus by Termier et al (1977), Valuzieria was synonymized with Aoujgalia by Vachard & Cózar (2010). However, our new material proved that Valuzieria is transitional between Aoujgalia and Asteroaougalia, and not really synonymous of one or each other of both genera.…”

“…), and 'Windsoporella'; Figure 7), as well as the problematic dasyclad Chlorophyta Koninckopora (Figure 7). Diagnosis of the previous genera can be found in the works of Mamet and Roux (1975a, 1975b, Perret and Vachard (1977), Termier et al (1977), Vachard and Montenat (1981), Mamet (1991), Vachard and Beckary (1991), Cózar and Vachard (2003), and Vachard and Cózar (in press). Only the Rhodophyta and Chlorophyta are algal groups with clear modern equivalents, whereas the rest of the taxa can be considered as problematic algae or incertae sedis.…”
