The study of several collections gathered in mediterranean countries, North Africa, Greece, Italy, Yougoslavia, South of France, and some other areas allows to precise the con¬ nection of a number of incertae sedis, supposed Algae or Stromatoporoids, to the Ischyrospongia (hypercalcified Sponges). The study concerns some palaeozoic forms either well known (. Amphipora , Stachyodes) ox less frequent (Aoujgaliida Termier, Termier et Vachard 1975), and mesozoic forms (Cladocoropsis, Sarmentofascis n. gen and Consobrinomia n. gen.). The relations of Idiostromidae with Permosphincta Sponges are considered. A sarmentoid texture common to several genera is defined for the first time. A number of taxa are created : Cladocoropsidae n. fam. , Consobrinomiidae n. fam., Sarmentofascis nov. gen., S. benesti n. gen. n. sp., S. chabrieri n. gen. n. sp. , Sinustacheoides n. gen. , Aoujgalia regularis n. sp. , Valuzieria n. gen. , V. sescenti n. gen. n. sp. , Chantonia n. gen. , Epistacheoides ( ?) richi n. sp. , Roquesselsia n. gen. , R. radians n. sp. , Consobrinomia n. gen. , C. elegans n.gen. n.sp. of France, and some other areas allows to precise the con¬ nection of a number of incertae sedis, supposed Algae or Stromatoporoids, to the Ischyrospongia (hypercalcified Sponges).
