In recent years, the constant challenge of finding cost-effective and sustainable alternatives has become a difficult task for all researchers worldwide. While it is true, scientific advances have been rich within this branch of green chemistry; However, there are still methodologies to be improved. This systematic review was elaborated in relation to nanotechnology and its application in agricultural field as nanofertilizers; with the aim of contributing to the community, in terms of state of the art, with the latest scientific advances in the application of nanoparticles (NPs) as new emerging technologies, in favor of the phenological development of plants and/or crops. This research could be developed from the analysis of research articles, using the PRISMA methodology, with which it was possible to collect around 200 articles; of which, considering various inclusion and exclusion criteria, among the main ones, those articles published between 2019 and 2022, 50 indexed and Q1 articles were selected. Each of these were compiled into registration matrices, characteristics and categories; Thanks to this, it was determined that 48%were published in 2022; followed by 32% found in 2021, signaling that nanotechnology will continue to advance over the years.Similarly, various methods for improving agriculture were considered in the category matrix. Finally, it was determined that, although nanofertilizers as emerging technologies contribute a large percentage in the structural development of the phenological characteristics of the plant, there are side effects; So it is important to take into account background, in order to achieve the incorporation of this new green technology in agro-industrial development.
