“…The Meth extract with higher phenol contents has lower IC 50 values and hence exhibited higher scavenging activity. It is not surprising to us that the Meth extract contained more flavonoids than the aqueous Eth extract because literature reports that relative to aqueous Eth, methanol extraction has a much elevated yield of extraction of total phenolics and total flavonoids (Dhawan & Gupta, 2017;Puangpronpitag et al, 2010), and these dissolved chemicals could therefore work in synergy or separately to exhibit interesting posttreatment pharmacological effects including effects on steroidogenesis and spermatogenesis as well as antioxidant effect on the testis. This is therefore the first evidence to show that Meth extract of A. djalonensis root could improve testicular function many weeks after withdrawal of treatment.…”
