Abstract: Apixaban is an oral small-molecule, direct factor Xa (FXa) inhibitor approved in adults for treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and for reducing risk of venous thromboembolism recurrence after initial anticoagulant therapy.
