Evaluation of the expression of early activation marker CD69 by CD8+ lymphocytes in HIV-infected patients

Abstract: We studied the expression of CD69 antigen on CD8+ lymphocytes in response to nonspecific activator phytohemagglutinin in 202 patients with HIV infection. It was found that the number of CD8+CD69+ lymphocytes in HIV-infected patients increased; this parameter negatively correlated with relative and absolute content of CD4+ cells and positively correlated with IgG concentration.
