In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of gender on the technological leadership of school administrators. For this purpose, 31 studies were reached between 2008-2018 years. These studies were analyzed by using the meta-analysis method. The total sample size of the analyzed studies is found as 9867. In the studies analyzed in the meta-analysis, there are two different types of data groups: the technological leadership of the administrators in teachers' eyes and the technological leadership of the administrators in their own eyes. As a result of the analysis; it has been determined that both teachers and administrators think that male school administrators have higher technological leadership than women (ES = -0.010). In addition to this result, it has been determined that the effect of gender variable on technological leadership is mostly in administrators, but overall effect size is weak in teachers (ES = 0.009) and managers (ES = -0.044).

Article InfoMission statements are increasingly becoming an inevitable component of educational institutions. The main reason behind this can be attributed to the fact that they are determinants for the accreditation of schools in today's competitive educational arena. Thus, gaining an insight into the emphasized concepts in mission statements of primary schools is essential since primary schools are the places where the education starts for every single individual. In this regard, the aim of this study is to provide a document analysis of mission statements of Turkish public primary schools which are governed by the Ministry of National Education. To achieve this, mission statements of 500 primary schools across Turkey were compiled; particularly schools from the Western and the Eastern parts of the country were randomly selected and included in the analysis. As well as the comparison between mission statements of schools located in two opposite sides of the country, a special attention was paid to whether any reference to language teaching and learning was available in the mission statements. The whole data were analysed via content analysis. The results give in-depth information about common and differing points among mission statements. The notion that teaching ability and experience are necessarily an indication of being a good school principal is now outdated. Today's school principals are expected to be effective leaders who are able to manage the complexities of rapidly changing school environment and to develop good relationships with teachers and students for better school outcomes. Therefore, management and effective leadership are widely viewed as the key concepts in order to improve school outcomes. In the 21st century, policy makers and researchers in both developed and developing countries across the world including Turkey have been in quest of finding the best possible approach or model to train effective school principals for the sake of improving student outcomes. Additionally, the researchers have been trying to find out the best leadership behaviors that are most likely to produce favorable school and learner outcomes. This current study aims to compare and analyze the key components of suggested training models for school principals in Turkey in terms of leadership behaviors that these models aim to develop. In this study, document analysis that is one of the qualitative research methods was used to collect and analyze the data. 12 research studies conducted by Turkish authors were reviewed and the model proposals offered in these studies were compared. As a result, suggestions were offered for the process of training and appointing the school principals.
