“…are used in chemotherapy, thus the complexes labeled with 193m Pt or 195m Pt appear to be potent antitumor agents [20,21]. The isomeric state 195m Pt de-excites exclusively by isomeric transition and emits high-intensity Auger and conversion electrons [22]: the energies released from conversion electrons, Auger electrons and photons are 183, 23 and 76 keV per decay, respectively.…”

“…Irradiation of highly enriched 194 Pt targets in a high flux nuclear reactor can be used to produce 195m Pt, but the product is not NCA since the thermal cross-sections of the 194 Pt(n,c) reaction is very small compared to the burn-up crosssections of the 195m Pt(n,c) 196 Pt reaction [24,25]. Since 195m Pt is a high spin (13/2 + ) isomeric state, use of charged particles with a high angular momentum ought to be more suitable to produce this nuclide [20]. Therefore, investigation of 195m Pt production via charged-particle irradiation pathways shows a great importance.…”

“…The main aim was the same in the work of Tárkányi et al (2007) [2], however, these authors have studied and suggested the 192 Os(d,2n) 192g Ir process for production purposes via an accelerator. Qaim et al (2009) [3] investigated in detail the 192 Os( 3 He,4n) reaction for the production of 191 Pt (T 1/2 = 2.8 d). This radionuclide has found application both in therapy and in environmental studies (cf.…”
