Excited levels in the multishaped Pd117 nucleus studied via β decay of Rh117

Abstract: Monoisotopic samples of exotic, neutron-rich 117 Rh nuclei, produced in the proton-induced fission of 238 U and separated using the IGISOL mass separator coupled to the JYFLTRAP Penning trap, were used to perform β and γ coincidence spectroscopy of 117 Pd. The spin parity of the ground state of 117 Pd was determined to be 1/2 + and the 19.1 ms isomer at 203.2 keV was assigned a spin-parity 7/2 − . The 117 Rh β − -decay scheme was considerably extended, and various sequences of the levels were interpreted as r… Show more

“…II B, and then to diagonalize the IBFM-2 Hamiltonian. By fitting the IBFM-2 model parameters to reproduce the most recent experimental data for the 115,117 Pd spectra [23,29], one obtains both the IBFM-2 predictions for the 115,117 Pd energy levels and their wave functions. Our results, calculated via the IBFM-2 Hamiltonian of Eq.…”

“…Since the last LASER meeting held in May 2016 in Poznan, several trap-assisted spectroscopy studies employing JYFLTRAP have been published. A beta detector and an array of broad-energy range germanium detectors have been used to study the beta decays of 88 Se [64] and 117 Rh [65]. The TASISpec silicon detector array together with a cluster and clover detectors were employed to study beta decay of 127 Cd [66].…”
