Experimental Evaluation of Consolidation Techniques of Fossiliferous Limestone in Masonry Walls of Heritage Buildings at Historic Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract: The heritage masonry buildings in Historic Jeddah are commonly constructed of fossiliferous limestone blocks (called "Mangabi"). • The "Mangabi" limestone usually suffers from high porosity, low density and weak mechanical strength. • This research experimentally demonstrated the preeminence of nano-lime in consolidating "Mangabi" limestones over Wacker OH-100.
