Experimental investigation of shape memory polymer hybrid nanocomposites modified by carbon fiber reinforced multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)

Abstract: This paper presents the effect of the variations of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) modification in shape memory polymer hybrid composites concerning their mechanical, thermomechanical, and shape memory characterizations. The process of fabrication includes preparation of the MWCNT/epoxy hybrid nanocomposites by shear mixing, ultrasonication, magnetic stirring, and subsequent molding by hand layup method. The appropriate post-processing was performed for the curing and cutting to prepare the samples for t… Show more

“…The combination of "nanoparticle" and "lubricant" in the ISI Web of Science database. Prior to the advent of other nanostructured materials, scientists mostly focused on metals, metal oxides, and carbon-based nanostructures [13][14][15][16][17][18]. Carbon nano-onions, fullerenes, graphene, CNTs, carbon quantum dots, nano-diamonds are all examples of carbon nanostructures.…”

“…Because friction material in electric cars has a greater power and speed, it is very vital to reduce the viscosity of the lubricant to optimize cooling performance. However, the reduction in lubricant viscosity should increase the contact and wear severity when the lubrication process moves from the hydrodynamic lubrication zone to the elastohydrodynamic and boundary lubrication zone (Chen and Zheng, 2018; Markad and Lal, 2021a). Consequently, one of the best approaches is to reduce the oil's viscosity; this should be done in conjunction with strong, friction-reducing products (Guegan, Southby and Spikes, 2019).…”
