The status of surrounding rocks dramatically influences the safety of construction workers, so the quality assessment of surrounding rocks has great significance. The uniaxial saturated compressive strength of rock (X1), the quality index of surrounding rock (X2), the frictional coefficient of the structural surface (X3), the joint spacing (X4), the state of groundwater(X5), and the integrity coefficient (X6) are selected as the initial evaluation index. Then, the game theory combination weighting-normal cloud model is introduced. Second, the certainty degree matrix of each index is established, and the weight coefficients of assessment indexes are determined based on the game theory combination weighting method. Finally, the quality level of surrounding rocks is judged. Compared with the traditional methods, the proposed model solves the fuzziness and randomness of different indexes, improves the reliability of the assessment process, and enhances the predictive accuracy of assessment results. In addition, it can provide a solution scheme for the evaluation indicators, which are difficult to quantify, and reduce the influence of human factors. The results obtained from the suggested model are consistent with the current specification. Its accuracy approaches 100%, and the method is feasible for the quality level assessment of surrounding rocks, providing a new technique and approach to assessing the risk level of surrounding rocks.

The occurrence of debris flow hazards has great destructive effects on the life and property safety of the people. Many factors control its occurrence. The intuitionistic fuzzy sets-TOPSIS model is introduced to assess the risk level of debris flow in the Duba river watershed at first; secondly, the decisive matrix of the intuitionistic fuzzy sets is established, and the index weight coefficients are determined by using the entropy weight method, and then the weighed decisive matrix is obtained. Finally, the degree of membership at different levels is calculated. The risk level corresponding to the maximum degree of membership is regarded as the final assessment level. The conclusions are drawn, estimating that the risk level of debris flow hazards in the Duba river watershed based on the intuitionistic fuzzy sets-TOPSIS model is feasible when its results are compared with the actual investigation and Liu X.L model, and the model not only can reflect the risk level of debris flow hazards accurately, but also further determines the risk ranking of debris flow in four different gullies, so that it can provide a new method and thoughts to estimate the risk level of debris flow hazards in the future.

As the assessment of pavement performance has considerable repercussions for the construction quality of roads, the study of the assessment procedure used is extremely critical. Riding quality index (RQI), pavement condition index (PCI), pavement structure strength index (PSSI), skid resistance index (SRI), and antirutting index (ARI) are selected as the assessment indexes of pavement performance. Then, the entropy weight-variable fuzzy sets model is introduced. Second, a relative membership degree matrix for the variable fuzzy sets is established, and the entropy weight method is used to determine the weight coefficients considering the uncertainty in the assessment indices. Finally, the quality level of pavement performance is determined by using the mean ranking feature value. The conclusions demonstrate a very accurate rate for the quality assessment of the pavement performance based on the variable fuzzy sets model compared to that based on the current specification, and the proposed method is feasible for the quality assessment of pavement performance, thus providing a novel means of assessing the quality level of pavement performance in the future.
