Experimental Study of Blast‐Induced Vibration Characteristics Based on the Delay‐Time Errors of Detonator

Abstract: The delay-time of detonators in hole-by-hole blasting is generally calculated accurately considering they have great influence on the blasting effect, such as blasting vibration and blasting slungshot. The high-precision nonel detonator and digital electronic detonator are been commonly used because of their accuracy of delay-time. However, each detonator has an allowable error range of delay-time due to the difference in manufacturing process. In the initiation network, the errors of delay-time often accumula… Show more

“…Because the actual and the nominal delay of detonator have large discreteness [37][38][39], there is normally a delay error. Terefore, in the actual initiation process, a hole-by-hole initiation with a small delay time was adopted [40][41][42][43]. Te time settings of hole initiation sequence are shown in Figure 4.…”

“…Current research work on blasting safety mainly focuses on the environmental impact of blasting. In the case of blast-induced ground vibrations research was done on prediction of intensity and modeling of ground-borne vibration phenomena [10,11,12,13,14,15], the effect of blast-induced vibrations on buildings and structures [16,17,18], and the influence of blasting technology on the seismic effect [19,20,21]. Considering airblast and flyrock, research was mostly made in prediction models of its intensity [22,23,24,25,26].…”

“…If the detonation of a blast hole occurs at an instant far from its nominal value, overlapping or detonations outside the expected time can occur, with the appearance of adverse effects such as projections, vibrations, airwaves, poor fragmentation, poor blast performance, etc. [ 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 ]. Hence, it is crucial to know the actual instant of detonation of the detonators in order to study the accuracy of the initiation system and its influence on the blasting results.…”
